I've had this beer before but wasn't able to remember much of it because I was trying a bunch of Papago's other brews and it was happy hour, so well, you know the rest...
A - Brown-Amber color w/ a creamy light brown head.
S - Sweet malt slaps you in the face right away. Masks everything else.
T - Slight roastiness, really sweet malt but not overbearing, brown sugar, light molasses, and a candy/syrup-like sweetness. That sweetness plus the malt sweetness really brought out the character of this beer.
M - The sweetness keeps the palate alive while the roasty finish levels it out.
D - This time around it was much sweeter than I previously remember. That wasn't a bad thing though, because I love this beer. It's one of the more common brews from them on tap, at least around this time of year, which I'm happy about, because it's a consistent Dubbel. They serve it in a Tulip glass and after one I was willing to have another, but Papago brews so many great beers that I didn't want to stick to just one. I might be able to have a second glass, but the flavors can get overwhelming. I'll have to try their Eisbock next, which is around 18% ABV.

I can't believe that the owner Ron can keep coming up with incredible new beers like this. This beer is a light amber color. Starts out on the sweet side with good caramel flavor and ends with a nice bitter, dry finish. Lots of Belgian character. The beer is said to be one of the few brewed in the U.S. with liquid Belgian candy sugar syrup. Most brewers use rock candy. Ron told me that he knows of only two other places who have tried using the syrup, Russian River and Chama River. It really made the beer very drinkable and one that is way to easy to quaff down.
