I was thinking that there may be a southern version of IPA that takes the term literally. Often paler than their standard or pale ale (thinking of Dogwood or Sweetwater or New River) It is about hops in the front and back, aroma and bitterness, instead of hops in the middle of the flavor.
Not as big a beer as I expected. I was expecting Hop Rod IPA or Hop Devil. Instead I got a crisp, almost light beer considering it's alcohol content. Mouthfeel was lighter then expected but still pleasurable.
Not so much a hop bomb setting off on your palate but a hop stampede.

This is a replacement double IPA for their Hopfather; obviously named for the worldwide hop crisis.
Great orange, hazy look. Lovely white head leaves nice lacing and has really good stick.
The aroma and flavor are just a bit of a disappointment; it's an IPA really. I get it; it's not brewed the same as the other to save on hops costs. Still, it's not bad in terms of chewiness and easy drinking, and the citrics are very pleasingly peppery and warming.
