Attractive golden in color, clear, with a white cap. The head for the style should generally be more "impressive", this was sufficient for brewpub distribution for sure. Long lasting, great stick. The style is generally a bottle conditioned brew, hazy, but being served on tap is going to clear it out quite a bit.
On the nose, there are two distinct hop notes. One is the citrics, American in origin as per style, giving a mild note. More potent would be a Saaz style leaf, more of a noble, pilsner-grass aroma, which also lends a distinct peppery character. Malt is out of the way.
They nailed the flavor. All the little nuances, which probably seem strange if you haven't had Houblon Chouffe or De Ranke XX, are right on style. The peppery spicing is there, the yeast strain is distinctly Belgian in style, and the finish is lovingly dry. Outstanding effort.
