Draught @ Papago
As I understand it, this beer is brewed by Sonora Brewing Co. for the Papago Brewery and also I believe for Holy Cow in Las Vegas.
Im not a real fan of Pumpkin beers, but as I sat there listening to a new local band called Powerstump, just banging away some great head rocking tunes, and for an Old Coot like me who is more inclined to Perry Como and Tony Bennett, I was totally impressed with their music, just goes to show you that you can teach and Old Pooch new tricks, look forward to seeing them again. Well I digress, now back to the beer. The beer has prodigious in size head, setting on a limpid amber body and the texture creamy with the resultant lace vellum like sheet of lace covering the glass. Sweet pumpkin aroma with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon, scrumptious this nose and a real treat, start is ambrosial pun intended, nicely malted with the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is mellow in its carbonation, the hops powerful in their spicy bite, quite dry aftertaste, and I must say this is the first pumpkin beer Ive tasted that I really like, and hopefully it will be back next year as it was quite a treat.

The thing I like most about this beer is the way it develops in the glass. Pumpkin aroma and flavor is very understated at first. When served cold, what comes out is a very pleasant blend of spices. Pumpkin only really begins to assert itself as the beer warms. Body has a somewhat biscuity flavor, and a crisp, slightly hopped finish. Pumpkin ales have never been my favorite holiday beer, but this is pretty good.
