Golden colour, clear beer with a nice white head, good carbonation.
Smell is not bad. Citrus like lemon. Koriander. Hoppy. After a while, a bit of vanilla.
Taste is not bad either. It's full bitterness, with a touch of sweet.
Mouthfeel is medium, the taste stays in your mouth. Alcohol is a bit harsh, but ok.

Not a bad beer at all.

Bought at a friendly neighbourhood slijterij on the Bilderdijkstraat in Amsterdam.
Poured into a Croy Tulip glass.

L: nice thick foam with mediumsized foam bubbles. Reduces to thinner but still substantial thickness after few minutes. Lacing also nice. Orange golden color and slightly musky. Little, very fine carbonation

S: Smells like its big brother the Duvel but to my taste more balanced.

T: a little watery to start with and bitter and more bitter in the end. Very little sweetness compare to other beers of its type, which I like for a change but this is probably responsible for the initial blandness.

F: the watery bitter taste is rather refreshing. But the carbonation is low on the tongue.

O: It is a little simple for a belgium beer, but simple can be good. A little less watery and more carbonation and I would have put it on top of my Blonde list. However, I will try this again.

A new brewery in my area here. This is their second beer, their first being an Export stout in 750ml bottles.

Got this at the bottle shop down the road.

From a bottle into a chalice.

APPEARANCE: Pours a three finger fluffy white head with great retention, coating the inside of the glass. Gamboge orange in color, cloudy, with lots of carbonation evident. A thick foam cap remains until the end leaving lots of nice lacing down the glass.

SMELL: A slightly muted nose on this one. Some pale malts and toasted aromas, but that's about it. Perhaps some hints of bubble gum in there.

TASTE: Grainy and sweet toasted malts. Some green apples and spicy yeast notes through the middle and into the finish. A mild aftertaste of sweet toasted malt, spices, and just a touch of bitterness at the finish for balance.

PALATE: Medium body, medium carbonation, and quite smooth. Not quite as creamy as hoped, perhaps a little watery actually, but goes down smooth and finishes slightly dry on the palate.

OVERALL: A good effort from this young brewery. This is a standard blond beer; nothing wrong and nothing special. I would have to say that their stout was a more interesting stout than their blond a blond. That said, however, this is a perfectly drinkable brew, and if you see it at a pub somewhere in Holland, you can't go wrong.
