On tap at the Noble Ale Works 3rd Anniversary Party held at Noble Ale Works in Anaheim, CA.
Billed as a barrel fermented Belgian ale with fresh figs, orange zest, cardamom, and Brett added.
Pours an opaque super dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, earth, and herbal aromas. Taste is much the same with malt and herbal flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable but it sort of reminds me of an herbal toothpaste or something.
