Rich and hoppy black brew. Very dark with nice lacing even in the pint shaker. The brewery calls this a "Black Pale Ale," but it's hoppy enough and strong enough to be a Black IPA if that makes anyone happier.
Big nose of flowery hops. Quite bitter and only slightly sweet with malt. Medium body. Resiny and dank. Gets a little one-dimensional after half a pint. Not a bad gulp but less interesting and refreshing than you might hope.
On tap at Local Habit in San Diego.

On tap for the 4th Annual LA Beer Week Beer Festival at Union Station in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and citrus zest. Taste is much the same with a mild roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is smells better than it tastes in my opinion.
