Mahogany color with beige head. Aroma is pretty weak, just some sweet malts and alcohol, also a bit tart. Taste starts slightly sweet with caramel malt but gets quickly bitter and hoppy. Earthy, resiny hops dominate the finish and linger in the aftertaste. Body is medium and slightly sticky. Not bad but it lacks some complexity.

Deep oxblood with solid ecru foam that trails.
Boozy nose of wood barrel and golden syrup with hints of butterscotch, cocoa, and orange rind.
Caramel peach cake, some yellow appley esters, more butterscotch, a brandy-like punch and resin and citronella hops.
Dank nectary finish and humming bitter linger.
Medium, clingy, lots of heat.
Any hop bite doesn't make up for the fact that this is on fire with ABV. Not sure what this has that couldn't be gotten at 8.5%. Chocolate malts and EKG i.e. all the subtlety is absent. Faint shapes of a BSPA in the malts. Hops show more in heavy IBUs more than aroma, in which case this would've only gained by sitting a while, though I'm not sure it would have helped.
Rough all around.
