Copenhagen 24/4 2022. 33 cl waxed bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Off-white label with golden text ensuring me that this Imperial Stout has been brewed continuously for 24 hours. Nice to know!
Pours opaque dark brown with a small light beige head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable of covering much of anything. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet and malty odor mingling with a spicy, earthy scent. Toasted, dark malts, brown sugar and toffee. Singed tobacco, leather and shoe polish. Dark alcohol.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, soft, smooth, viscous texture. Light tingle.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a modest grainy bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a notable boozy undertone. Lingering. Finish is sweet liqueur.
Fine barrel boozer from the sweet, bourbon soaked part of town.

22 Mayo 2024. Edición 2022. De 32gp. En copa Teku. Actualizando Curriculum. Paso por barrica suave y equilibrado, aunque cuidado con ella porque se sube con facilidad a la cabeza. Le falta algo más de punch para llegar al sobresaliente. Avg 4.25
4 Agosto 2021. De 32gp. En copa Mahou Barrica. Jugando a Fortnite. Brutal. De esas birra sen las que las notas a barrica se integran perfectamente y, aunque marcadas, nunca se siente excesivas sino que ayudan mucho a beberla pese a ese traicionero 12% que apenas se nota. Avg 4.75.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)…
L- Lemmy would like this one, black as the Ace of Spades. Pours with 1mm deep tan head.
S- Whisky, big-time with rich malts in parallel.
T- Good gawd. Whisky; BIG, dark cocoa, dry, pungent hops and malts. Boom - huge pungent whisky lingers on, a wine-like sherry/port note noses in and out.
F- Thick feeling. Cripes. A bitter and slightly sour facet which keeps the palate alert and not swamped. This is a seriously heavy and intense beer.
O- Nicely put together. Boof! it's an intensity you're unlikely to forget. For me it's a slow-sippin cold season beer. Very enjoyable to try, maybe rather too $$ and drama intensive to buy again.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed!
330ml bottle BB: 02/2024 £6 Bought from BeautifulBeers, Bury St. Edmunds/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

look: fizzy tan coloured head which dissipated slower than anticipated, beer is a very dark rich brown colour.
smell: very malty, rye bread, roasted smokey aroma, dark chocolate, treacle, molasses, a certain vinous quality to it, whiskey of course, some dark sweet fruit aroma, smells good.
taste: goodness that’s a big beer, a tonne of malt flavour, hard to pin it all down, bread, rye or pumpernickel bread, smokey, roasted, a lot of unami, meaty, but also quite sweet, lot of treacle and molasses, lot of fig, lot of raisin, lot of whiskey too, this thing isn’t trying to pretend like it’s not 12%, a hint of sherry, high bitterness on the finish, smokey malt flavours linger on the finish.
feel: medium to full bodied, lightly carbonated, really heavy, a sipper for sure, quite smooth.
overall: i expected a little bit more from this to tell you the truth, not to say that isn’t a good beer, it is, i just set my expectations too high, still a good beer though
