Look: Cloudy amber with a nice-looking off-white head that mounds up and settles to a lid, leaving decent lacing behind
Aroma: Tangerine, dried orange peel, sun tea, tart raspberries, and an herbal note that I cannot pinpoint
Taste: Sun-brewed tea with lots of orange-led citrus and raspberries sets the tone and holds consistently as herbal notes weave in and out. Orange notes fade some and tea becomes dominant in the finish besides a quick tart berry note
Mouthfeel: Full but light, medium-high carbonation, and fairly clean throughout
Overall: I dig it. This is a great palate-resetting beer as it tastes like almost nothing else readily available and even skirts the line of a ‘beer’ itself. Very unique tea, citrus, and raspberry notes throughout and though I’m sure it’s not everyone’s cup of tea (pun intended), I like it and always have. Refreshing and interesting

12 FLUID OUNCE can
Served in a pint glass
This beer pours burnt orange with some suspended particles visible. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.
The tea and tangerine come through nicely. I get hints of alcohol.
It has a fresh brewed tea meets tangerine meets alcohol flavor. It tastes more tea-like and less sweet than a Twisted Tea. The tangerine helps the flavor a lot. The rye adds a spicy component to the taste.
Medium bodied with a medium mouthfeel
It is not bad. It is different. I like different. It goes down rather quickly on a unseasonably hot spring day.

Hazy golden orange with two fingers of white head. Rings and splotches of lace as the head drops.
Smell is fruity bready malts.
Taste is fruity with bready malts. Some tangerine peel in there too.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with just enough carbonation. The finish is wet and balanced.
Overall a tasty slightly off-beat ale that is easy drinking.

a cleverly thought up beer, and while it doesnt come together flawlessly, i think its a unique combination of flavors and i liked this pretty well. a rye based orange colored brew with tangerine zest and black tea in it, a curious mix of ingredients, but it works. the tea is easily the most forward of these, earthy and floral, bitter for sure in nose and taste, and with a very natural vibe, its nice with the spice of the rye in the mash, and almost doesnt need the orange to brighten it up, it has a cool impact on the beer, i always think tea is an underutilized element in brewing. the orange is bitter too, and theres a lot of that on the back end, but its also oily and bright and zesty, and serves to make this a little more broad appeal, a little fresher and cleaner, and a bit more familiar too. it works with the tea nicely, and it gives an herbaceous quality to the finish of a beer that has no hops in it, so it fills a needed role here i reckon. it could use a little more carbonation, but i like the weight of the body with these flavors, and i like how the tea is the last thing i taste after the swallow. cool beer, id like to try more from gilgamesh after this one being so interesting.
edit: i liked this even more the second time, from the can now, fruit seems real fresh, the balance is amazing, and its dry for what it is. im impressed, raising a few scores. rarely is flavored beer this drinkable, i really like it!

Pours a dense orange, thin head. Nose is lime, malty-sweet tea. Taste of light earthy malt ,citrus is evident, the rye and bergamot are on the edge. Very drinkable on a hot day and tasty for not having any hops.

Malty, fruity (sweet) with just a hint of dirty rye. Refreshing when cold, sorta like a shandy (but much heavier). Label says tangerine, tastes very orang-y to me. Would be very interesting as a barrel aged item.
