GILGAMESH BREWERY -DAVID’S CHAIR HEF 5.2 abv
The first sip tells you this a very different Hef than any that I have ever had. It’s a fruity apple cider and pair flavored brew on the semi - sweet side. It is a lightly hopped low alcohol brew that’s easy drinking and one a hazy beer drinker would like and enjoy the unique flavor profile.

Look: Pours a surprising medium orange with the classic wheat beer head that refuses to settle, albeit relenting eventually to a pillow
Aroma: Wheat bread, wheat dough, wheat malt, light and slightly sweet banana and bubblegum-esque esters, and hints of clove
Taste: Loads of wheat bread and dough start this off and continue to pile onto one another and deepen as a little sweet ester note pokes around in the background. Clove, light banana, and bubblegum are discernable when the initial wheat punch slows but it quickly returns to full steam for the close
Mouthfeel: Full, silky smooth, soft, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish
Overall: I dig it. I always loved these folks’ DJ Jazzy Hefe but hadn’t tried this wheat ale yet so wanted to as their wheat beers always jived with my palette. It’s a good one and actually has some good yeast notes and esters that come through, which I don’t always find in American Wheat Ales. Solid, refreshing, tasty, and readily available – sign me up
