Our Mosaic Pale Ale is a refreshing take on an American Pale Ale. The four additions of Mosaic Hops in the brewing process gives this beer a distinct fruity aroma and taste. It has a silky smooth mouthfeel and is balanced enough to be enjoyed by people who love all styles of beer.

Today is the occasion of Oh, Boy, It's JoBoy's New Beer Sunday (Week 712). I bought a Variety sixer of bottles on my last visit & I got pics taken, resized & approved yesterday, so all systems are green & go.

From the Bottle: "Our Mosaic Pale Ale is a refreshing take on an American Pale Ale. The four additions of Mosaic Hops in the brewing process gives this beer a distinct fruity aroma and taste. It has a silky smooth mouthfeel and is balanced enough to be enjoyed by people who love all styles of beer."; "At JoBoy's we specialize in hand crafted beer & authentic southern BBQ."; "45 IBU".

I have to admit to being intrigued by their label design of a fist holding stalks of 2-rown barley & hop cones superimposed on what was intended as a mosaic, but looks like an Autism Awareness sign. Hmm.

I sat for a moment or two in silent contemplation before proceeding with the ritual Pop!ping of the cap. I was born to older (32 y/o) parents & my cousin has an autistic son. In taking Abnormal Psych, I realized that I hit many markers for low-level autism so I may have dodged a pretty large bullet in that regard. Onward! My pour was of a slow, gentle C-Line variety that produced nearly three fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with great retention, leaving a load of sticky lacing in its wake. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. BUPGOO! Nose smelled fantastic - it was like liquefied fruit salad with blueberries as its centerpiece. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. The taste had a bitterness that belied their measurement, but that was fine by me. It also tasted strongly of blueberries & once more, I was whisked away on a sea of memory. Another cousin's family originally resided on Roherstown Road & they had a blueberry patch when I was a kid. I loved picking & eating fresh blueberries! I especially enjoyed making blueberry pies & for a long time, blueberries were my favorite fruit & purple was my favorite color (now strawberries & golden-yellow). Man, did this take me back! I usually dun APAs for not living up to the standard set by SNPA, the standard-bearer, but it would be tough to do in this case. The bitterness was present, albeit of a different stripe, plus it tasted really good. Warming, I got a biscuit maltiness peeking through, making it even tastier. Pancakes? No. Muffins? No. Blueberry biscotti? YES! Mmm. Finish was dry, but on the low end of dry so that if you wanted to postulate semi-dry, I would not argue. This was an impressively tasty beer!
