This Blonde Ale is smooth, easy drinking beer with a light body, and has the lowest alcohol content of our offerings. With light fruity esters, a touch of malt character, and just enough hops to keep things balanced. This is a very approachable selection for those new to craft beer.

Transcribed from notes:

It was presented with a finger of bone-white head, but it had all but disappeared by the time that I got to it. It had a light maltiness on the nose, but it was pretty innocuous, by intent. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium and I actually could taste some bittering hops in the mouth. It would not put off the novice, which is who this was intended for, but it was acti=ually more bitter than some low alcohol beers that I have had. Finish was lightly sweet, not overwhelming, pleasant enough as a diversion, but just not my speed.

Served at the brewpub.

A: The blonde ale is appropriately blonde, a pale golden yellow color that is crystal clear. A thin band of head separates the beer from the air, like a band of wax in a Mason jar of preserves.

S: The blonde ale has a fruity sweet aroma, malt driven. The nose is generally mild, especially on the hop-front.

T: The esters are a welcome addition to the blonde ale, spicing it up significantly. The biscuity pale malts are light, a soft base for the sweetness of the yeast. Hoppiness is almost nonexistent but I think that any significant bitterness would get in the way. The finish of the ale, for such a small beer, is quite nice, showcasing more of the spicy fruitiness.

M: The mouthfeel is yeast-driven, accelerated beyond what a normal blonde ale should be. A good start to my day.

D: The weakest (by abv) offering at JoBoy's, this is a strong gateway brew, a good drink.
