This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a quickly dissipating one foamy head and no lacing. The smell took in the orange peel and coriander but it came across extremely light. Strong caramel and toffee malts slide in underneath with a touch of coffee. The taste was malty dry through the caramel, toffee and coffee. Light cocoa notes slide in underneath. Spices take an even greater backseat than the smell. Dry malty aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the maltiness to be the body on my tongue. Overall, treated as a winter warmer, its not bad. However, I must admit that the winter spices seem a bit lower than expected.
