I'm trying this beer at the brewery/ pizzeria. It poured an opaque dark with no head and no lace. The scent had bold roast and subtle cocoa highlights. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roasted presence throughout and accented by espresso and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

On tap at the brewpub.
This is a straightforward, well-crafted stout with relatively high but hidden ABV: drinks like ~6%. Plenty of dark roasted grain flavor. Excellent aroma. Light-medium, smooth body.

On tap at the brewpub. Coffee that is well integrated. Black, very lacey, almost nitro in character with its creaminess. A good aroma.
I had the nitro versionas well and it was not as tasty, and more coffee tasting, with the aroma more faint. If you like or rather do not hate, try this stout.

Poured on tap into a shaker glass.

The beer is very dark. Little light seems to pass through it. The pour left a half finger, medium brown head which dissipates to leave a little lacing and rim of head along the periphery. The smell is typical of a stout with mild roasty, smokey tones with the taste following the aroma; also smokey and mild, neither over or underwhelming roasty flavor. As I enjoyed this beer I was thinking that if I was introducing a beer drinker to a stout, this is the one I would use. It was brewed to be a standard stout and the beer definitely achieved that goal. Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation with a smooth finish. Overall you can not go wrong with this beer. Easy to drink and should be a staple beer at this facility.
