A: quarter finger head, lots of lace. Little hazy and darker amber with brown hues. A little hazier than the clear regular pinglehead. Likely related to differences in batches as oppose to the oak causing this change.
S: sweaty hop aroma is all I am getting out of the aroma.
T: Vanilla sweetness dominates the front end. Maple syrup sweetness masking the pine and hop bitterness with the hops still coming through. The sweetness lingers forever in the finish. A very nice touch.
M: incredibly smooth. Moderate carbonation and medium bodied. Semi dry texture of the pinglehead is less so in this version.
Overall: the pinglehead is an excellent beer but I think the oak aged may be even better. The two are extremely complimentary and I hope this one makes another appearance on the menu.
