I had this on at the Mellow Mushroom in Jax Beach. I’m always on the lookout for fresh local beer. Since it was 7.2 %, the MM served it in a 10 oz modified chalice. The beer is red bordering on bronze with a chill haze and a massive beige head.
It has an aroma of caramel, grains and a touch of alcohol.
The taste is sweet with a bit of alcohol heat. Grains, light brown sugar, red apple.
The mouth is smooth with a bit of slickness.
Not a serial repeater due the evident alcohol. However, I would have no problem having one now and again.

A: single finger head with a lot of circumferential lacing on a clear amber and crimson body.
S: mild hops and citrus. A lot more than I expected from the style.
T: this one is an imperial. Very hoppy with a nice orange and pineapple note. Finish is semi dry.
M: this is a very smooth beer. Medium body and moderate carbonation.
Overall a very nicely hopped imperial red. Better than most but not quite good enough to stand up to the best in the genre.
