A:
Pours a slightly cloudy golden amber with a sloppy beige head of about an inch, dissipates to a healthy film. Decent retention; sticky geometric lacing.
S:
Fruity and earthy. Grapefruit rind, overripe pineapple, latex, funky dirty diaper smell in the background that I can't quite figure (sorry, I really tried to come up with a better descriptor, but here we are).
T:
Evenly malty and hoppy. Crisp and dryly bitter up front with some citrus notes coming in in the middle and a pine finish with dirt, grass, and soap.
M:
Nice and creamy with a medium body and good carbonation. It is fairly drinkable and has a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
O:
Decent beer and nice to try anything single hop.
Pretty nice pour with a nice-ish nose and a nice, simple hop flavor with a bit of a caramel backbone. Neither the best nor worst beer by La Barberie. I would wager that Nelson Sauvin hops are primarily used for getting a fruity nose and they have a kinda dirty (pine/coffee grounds) taste? If so, then regardless of anything this beer gave me an education.
Wouldn't turn it down; not worth turning down...
