Went to La Barberie following a good dinner at a restaurant with bad beer :)... Had to drink good beer that night. So I went there and tried the Extra Stock Ale.

This beer was quite intriguing to me from the 8 beer on the menu but it turned out to be one of my favorite.

Color is slightly yellow with a little tint of ambre. Looks like a pale ale. Smell of citrus hops and the taste is simply awesome: hops with a touch of malt. Very balanced in my opinion. This is what I call a GREAT beer. Wish they would bottled this one.

Drinkability, I could drink pint and pint of that one... liked it very much! However not as good as their India Pale Ale but nevertheless one of the great beer from that microbrew!

A goldern beer with a nice lacish unforgetting head. A smell that wakes you up and very present of malt and hops. Her taste is very brute, present, you can feel her age and her attributes. The feel in mouth is present, that beer doesnt leave you innocent for a while. A tiny bitterness in palate then followed by a brute awakening of malt and hops. Be carefull my mate got knackered on one pint!

Cloudy golden with a big white head. The aromas are of spicy hops and biscuity, french bread-like malts. The taste is malty and bready up front with an awesome herbal hop flavor in the middle and a dry, yet refreshing finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and the drinkability is excellent.

The pour was a cloudy golden with a good foamy white head. My initial thoughts were that this can't be an Extra Stock Ale, it looks too light. It looks much more like a Blanche or Weiss beer to me. In any case...........

It had an appetizing citrus nose. Hints of apricot & grapefuit with a light hoppiness. The mouthfeel was very lively. The taste was light and wheaty. Citrus flavours bounced around my tongue and there was even a slight tanginess to it that i attribute to the citrus fruit.

Crisp dry finish. Nice balance. A great refresher. As a side note, when i came back the next day for another sample, it was alll gone!
