Sampled at La Barberie's brewpub in Québec City. 5 oz. serving that I spent considerable time warming up as the temperature in the bar was frigid to say the least.
An attractive beer with a pastel straw yellow colour and a snow white but thin and vanishing head which left some spots of lace on the sampler glass.
As the brew warmed up some alluring notes of coriander mixed with hints of vanilla and delicate flowery hops mingled with a characteristic yeastiness. Nice aromas but all very delicate.
The tastes resembled the aromas and were beautifully balanced and pleasant. Up front a gentle wave of honeyed malt swept through, carrying with it notes of coriander and soft fruits (pears and bananas) and finished on a delicate balance of hoppy and yeasty bitterness. A well executed, mellow and flavourful brew that stands perfectly on its own or would be a great companion for poached salmon with honey mustard sauce.
