Spring ushers in our fresh take on a traditional Scottish Ale. The beer pours a ruby red amber colour producing a full, creamy white head. As you taste the beer, there is a definite malt undertone with a slight sweetness that compliments the hoppiness of the typical Scottish Ale. Kilty Bastard offers surprising hints of caramel with a slight essence of vanilla…a truly great looking, great tasting beer.

I tried this beer on tap on June 1, 2012 at "C'est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent copper colour with a thin foamy medium brown head that lasted. Certainly far from the white head mentioned on the website. The aroma was sweet malt, caramel, vanilla and some floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt, caramel, molasses, some yeasty notes, and a bitter finish. I enjoyed all but the aftertaste.
