This was the last beer available at ABC before they closed/moved. Served in a pint glass.
A - Poured a deep dark brown with a quarter inch head that faded to leave a little halo.
S - Typical burnt malts ans light chocolate and caramel.
T - Not bad. Good ported notes. Smooth chocoalte and roasted malt notes.
M - Nice and creamy with a light crispness.
O - Overall this is an okay porter. Not a bad beer to end ABC's run on. I lived this place in college and will miss it.

Went to ABC on St. Patty's day and saw this drink that I have rarely seen at the brewpub. The drink had a silky, oily black appearance with little head retention. Aromas were quite good with the mixture of dark chocolate, slight citrus and malts. For my wife to like this drink says a lot; nicely sweet, creamy with a burnt bitterness in the aftertaste. A creamy texture was found with the beer but it was very light on the palate. Overall, not too bad.

On tap at the brewpub. A good example of the inconsistency of the lineup, this porter is rather bland and the carbonation and taste is off. Certainly not a batch that should have been served. Dark, a bit of aroma, some hops that gave it some citrus. It could have used: less carboantion, more malting, particular chocolate malt.

Sampled at the brewpub on tap.
This porter poured a dark brown-red, almost opaque color with creamy, tan foam that settled. The smell was coffee and cocoa. The taste was bitter coffee, chocolate, and caramel malt with some hops in the finish. The mouthfeel was smooth with medium body and moderate carbonation, with a dry finish. This was a good, drinkable porter.
