Poured deep red, only slightly translucent. Head was thick, rich, and lasting. Smelled of hops and alcohol with toasty malt hints. It's a rather strong flavor with copious hops. The malt helped me to enjoy the bitterness more. Although I do like less hoppy beers, this one was very good. It was very smooth throughout the drinking and never let up its quality.

This anniversary brew of the Amherst Brewing Company was purchased at the brewpub, and was presented in a cobalt blue glass 1/2 growler with a swing-top lid.
Poured into an imperial pint glass, a frothy inch of head formed over the reddish brown brew. Head lasts and lasts, and laces beautifully. Light aroma of malt and some hops, nothing earth-shattering. Taste is smooth medium malts with a light hops presence at the end, and alcohol is not even noticeable. Mouthfeel is so smooth, and this it goes down so easy drinkability is excellent as well. Hurry, get some at the brewery before it's all gone!
