on tap at the brewpub.. recent addition and also available in IL swingtops to take home..
pour is dark brown, but not too dark to see color in the pint glass. foamy head of some substance here. aroma is lost somewhat as a result of cold temperature and pint glass shape, but you can still get a serious sense of malt and hops. taste is heavy on roasted nut flavor with some barely detectable bitter coffee. raisins figure prominently into the mix here as well. damn i wish this was warmer! hops dominate though, creating a dark, toasty, lasting bitterness. this went really well with the spicy vegetable chili. an almost fruity finish to the hops is unexpected and nice. not too drinkable due to the heaviness and bitterness but still a good beer and i'm glad to have drunked it ! 8^P
