pours amber with one finger head and sliding lacing down side of glass. Nose of malt with a barnyard/wet grass/ earthy aroma. Taste is wet but dry and full of malt flavor and smooth like most double IPA's with a bitter back mouth. 16 oz pint glass at brewery 10/13/12.

Serving Type is actually a blue 1 liter flip top bottle. This unfiltered IPA has the classic cloudiness to it. A strong hop aroma gets you excited to take the first sip, and the taste of the fruity hops does not dissipate at all straight through to the after taste. There is a slight skunkiness to the flavor of the beer, most likely from the light passing through the blue bottle. Your tongue is coated with a smooth creaminess, balanced by a drying bitterness from the hops. ABC Seeing Double IPA avoids that pellet hop grittiness that some imperial ipas can have. As imperial beers go, there is no harsh alcohol aftertaste, just a hoppy goodness that makes it very pleasurable to drink.

Was on tap at ABC last time I was there. The drink had a nice, murky appearance, specifically in a brown-amber color. There was a slightly brown head with some creamy lacing. Spices galore were sensed in the aroma department with the usual suspects of hops and malts. Flavoring was a bitter citrus that was not too overpowering for a double IPA. A good carbonation made it crisp and nice to sip throughout the evening. Overall, I wish Amherst brewed this more.
