Had as part of their sampler pack, fall 2009, reviewed from notes.
Arrived as part of their beer sampler. This beer had a one finger head atop a clear yellow body. For some reason, I had expected it to have some haze to it, but that's neither here nor there.
Aroma was sweet and doughy, with some fruitiness. Type was indeterminate, but definitely present.
Taste was sweet, with crisp apples prevalent. Underneath, though, was a slight medicinal taste, some phenol, esters, and a hit of alcohol on the swallow. Not totally pleasant.
Mouthfeel was average, a little thick but not syrupy or cloying. Not thin or watery.
Drinkability... well, better than standard fare, and OK, but not the best tripel I've had. Belgian inspired, but didn't taste quite Belgian in character.
