330 ml bottle. This brew is a collaboration between Lamzing Beer and Red Dot Brewhouse in Australia aimed at recreating the flavours of a traditional Thai dessert - mango with sticky rice topped with coconut milk - in a bottle. The beer appears a dark hazy brown sahde, topped with generous froth - indeed there seems to be excessive carbonation in this brew! Aromas are as promised, hoppy fruity notes of mango, and some citrus, as well as accompanying florals. Tastes follow the aromas, fruit (mango) but not much, if any of the promised coconut milk over the more earthy malt notes lurking beneath these flavours. However, these tastes are somewhat transient, giving way to a bitter finish. As mentioned, the carbonation seems a tad too much, and becomes somewhat distracting - what it does, is really to mask a rather thin mouthfeel, especially in the finish.

Copper and filtered with 4 fingers of orange-beige head.

Smells of malts, coconut, and a hint of sweet, fruity, mango. Clay or children's moulding dough, and pencil crayon.

Tastes bad. I don't like it. Its bitter, sweet, like crayon, some coconut, but mostly an incongruent combination of battery acid, creme brulee, coconut and rotten fruit. Slightly sweet.

Light and slightly syrupy, with moderate carbonation.

Got in Chiang Mai, drinking at Maninarakorn Hotel here May 3rd, 2017. Not as bad on successive sips, just not a smooth brew, nor is it or dessert like beer as the name conjures up.

330ml bottle poured into a pint glass.

Mildly hazed to translucent brown amber color with small short-lived white head that quickly dies down with minimal trail of lace, there are lots of sediments floating around.

In a nose, it is led and dominated by coconut and coconut cream. Ripe mango can be sensed somewhere as well as subtle touch of grain.

Still coconut and coconut cream covering the taste buds but this time mango seems to be a little bit speaking louder, it is sweet and fruity overall with some taste of grain at the almost end and just slight bitterness at the finish. Finish is short and there is not much thing left inside the palate as the aftertaste.

Medium body with some crisp and lively carbonation to generate semi-smooth mouthfeel through the palate, finish is rather dry.

Yes, it is as advertised with rich coconut, coconut milk, and mango character but somehow the coconut profile is way too excessive and drowning the other characters. Consider it in Pale Ale aspect, this one literally falls short. Consider as Fruit Beer, this one is not that bad and according to what it wants to be. So, all depends on the perspective.
