Hard to put my finger on. Low hops, high sweetness. Taste more like a scotch ale or an esb. Nothing too off putting about it specifically... Maybe too much sweet fruit for my taste.

Flat flavor with a terribly off putting brownish color. Not a very good beer at all.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter, the beer is a vibrant, crystal clear, ruby coloring with a thin, wispy halo of white film. Aromas of old world fruit, including date and fig, with some roasted characteristics, too. Pretty rich and malty nose. The flavors are tangy sweet and rich forward, with berry, date, fig, hints of grapefruit, and a caramel backbone, and some hops characteristics finally shining through, including resinous notes, pepper spice, and a mossy characteristic. This is heavy on the palate, and a definite malt-bomb. The body is full and robust, and the carbonation gives a slight crispness to it. The aftertaste is more fruit sweetness, with only a hint of bitterness to attempt to curb the cloying feel. The finish is smooth, slick, and slightly lingering. Interesting brew. Not sure how it lines up in the DIPA style guidelines; I would have gone more towards a Strong Ale.

Appearance - Dark ruby red to light brown. Minimal head.

Smell - Syrupy sweet. Dried fruit. Rock candy.

Taste - Boozy warmth with caramel sweetness. Kind of like eating rum cake that is more rum than cake.

Mouthfeel - Creamy with lingering piney resin. Leaves a residual film feeling on the tongue. This beer stays for awhile.

Overall - A pretty interesting beer for a style I don't often seen advertised. I suppose it referred to as an imperial pale ale instead of an IPA due to it being more malt centric than hops. It hides its 10% pretty well as it is pretty sweet. Not a bad deal for being a part of a build your own 6 pack for 10 bucks.

Kind Beers, Imperial Pale Ale

A- Minimal head due to the high ABV. Dark Ruby Red Appearance
S- Malty, biscuty with a small hop aroma.
T- Mildly sweet caramel and toffee malts. Very smooth considering the ABV
M- Smooth, perhaps a little think

Not bad overall for such a strong brew.

I really have nothing to say about this beer besides the fact that I do not like it. There is a very odd apple juice tone to it that I find highly off-putting. This quickly became a sipper beer; for no other reason besides that it was somewhat unpleasant to drink. Quite disappointing.

This is the imperial version of their flagship, Pale Ale. A minimal head forms, not uncommon for a beer that is 10%. Hazy pale copper/yellow. Smells of good malt backbone and a kick of hops. Pretty simple.

Would have no idea this was 10% the way this drinks. Smoooth and medium bodied. This one could be trouble.

Nice local offering from Kind Beer
