This one pours a golden hazy orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like passionfruit, pine, peach, pineapple, and grapefruit.

Hill Farmstead clearly knows what they are doing regarding Galaxy hops. This is just so clean, with a great dry and clean bitterness on the finish, with a nice clean juiciness up front, with pineapple and passionfruit mostly, and some grapefruit bitterness.

This is light bodied, clean, and very drinkable.

Hill Farmstead still makes my absolute favorite hoppy beers, they still make me happy all these years later after first trying them.

L: Hazy yellow with a thick white head and excellent lacing.

S: Peach, pineapple, and kiwi with a touch of pine. Very subtle breadiness to the malt.

T: Mild bitterness up front, moves into juicy citrus, pineapple, and peach. Very light malt backbone that provides a simple breadiness as a backdrop for the hops.

F: Lush, creamy body

Overall: A beautiful single hop beer. Very balanced on the palate and does an incredible job showcasing Galaxy. Among the single hop pale ales I have had from them, this is one of my favorites along with Citra and Simcoe.

A- Served from a 2L growler to a tulip glass. The body itself is extremely cloudy and hazy with a very pale golden hue. A thick and creamy cap rises atop the brew to about a half inch high with good retention. A massive ring forms at the edges painting the glass with plentiful pillows of lacing.

S- Bright and dank hops off the top with waves of different aromas and plenty of strength for a low ABV Pale Ale. Galaxy personified with notes of pineapple, dank weed, mango, slight melon, a bit of grapefruit, tangerine and lemon. A bit of pale grains but not much beyond those clean, juicy hops.

T- Melons and mango nectar lead things off with a blast of juicy hops right up front. This ends up leading to notes of lime peel, grapefruit, tangerine, orange, pineapple, floral and a slight bit of lemon. Pale cereal grains and a hint of bread round it out but again the star is by far the hops.

MF- Puffy and creamy light body with moderately high carbonation. The bubbles have held up with just a bit of time in the fridge just fine. Ends with a bright citrus bitterness that is just a bit pithy.

I know I have had this up in VT on draft before but this is probably the best batch I can remember to date. The aroma is a blast of dank and tropical vibes where the flavor balances things out a bit more with the citrus becoming more obvious. Nectar of the beer gods here.

enjoyed this on tap. hazy light straw pour with a bright white head that decorates the glass nicely. somewhat subdued on the aroma, light grassy and citric hops, hint of tropical. on the palate is juicy orange, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, sharp citrus peel, light pale malt to balance, slight peppery spice, lemon and a nice bitter pine on the finish. pretty light in body but still maintains some creamy texture that brings out the galaxy notes. really nice low abv offering that is on par with the most legendary pale ales. So drinkable and tasty, highly recommended!

On tap, fluted snifter, 12oz. pour at Blackback Pub.

Looks like grapefruit juice with a thin foam cap. Full on haze.

Floral, citrus zest, grapefruit juice and resinous hop aroma.

Flavor full of bright citrus and pine hops, light malt presence.

Moderate carbonation, smooth, lighter side of medium body.

Overall an excellent pale ale showcasing all aspects of the galaxy hops. Balance of bittering, aroma, flavor hopping is spot on.

galaxy is one of those hops i feel like is always used in conjunction with others, i havent had a ton of beers isolating its different functions, so this was cool to see. i was surprised how versatile this hop really is, the aroma is amazing, thats the part we all know and love, limes, green apples, and even kiwi fruit in its basket, with the bitterness and the feel aspects being the newer elements to me at least. surprised how bitter this does get in the end, must be more of that in here than is often used, its not bitter in general, but its bitter for what i thought i knew about galaxy hops, and it balances the potential for sweetness really well. the grain base on this is really light, its hazy and pale hay colored like all the others, maybe some wheat in it, and that yeast they use in so many of their hoppy beers as well. the galaxy is just a brilliant hop, juicy and distinct from other southern hemisphere varietals in that its not so tropical and standard fruity, but quite specific and even narrow in its flavor bouquet. gorgeously brewed pale ale, on par with any highly rated pale ale out there in my opinion. i know a 30 pack of cans is out of the question, but thats the format this beer needs!

poured into Hill farmstead wine stem.

Appearance: The body looks like orange juice with a thick bone white head. Lacing everywhere from this beer.

Smell: Citrus and a hint of tropical fruits.

Taste: citrus & peaches with a little bit of sweet passionfruit/mango note. Finishes with a moderate dank, slightly resinous, and light bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Single hop galaxy pale ale from Hill Farmstead... Yes please, you know this will be a winner before you even crack the can.

A: Light shade of yellow, cloudy, with a thin white lacing.
S: Floral, very lemony, some grapefruit. Hints of pine and sticky/dank hops.
T: Similar to nose.
M: Hops prickly to the tongue, medium carbonation, slight dry, hoppy bitter finish. A somewhat stickiness to it as well.
O: Another Solid APA by Hill Farmstead!

This was truly sublime across the board; one of the best hoppy brews they've done yet. Galaxy hops provide plenty of juice, bite, herb, pepper, and bitterness. Malt profile is clean and almost chewy.

Growler. Pours a pale, translucent yellow color. White head is frothy. Laces well. Looks great. Aroma is a pure welcoming of Galaxy hops. I find that Galaxy is one of the best smelling hops. It smells incredibly tropically fruity. It's also slightly mossy or herby. It really screams passion fruit in my nose. The flavor is almost on par with the delectable scent. Galaxy hops bring forth memorable, distinct flavors. Juicy, wet, ripe fruits! Pineapple, passion fruit, melon, and the rest of the bunch. The malt is a pale, neutral table for the intricacies of this hop. It definitely finishes with balance and some dryness. Not too much bitterness but there are some lingering effects. Lighter bodied. Love the single hop offerings from Hill Farmstead.

From 02/11/15 notes. Thanks to BeerLawyer85 for sharing a growler of this; thanks Ross! 32 oz. growler filled a few days ago poured into HF stemware.

Pours a murky bright yellow color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident. Lots of citrus hops, fruity malts, pale malts, floral notes, and earthy notes. Medium body and low carbonation.

Overall very good, but not as hoppy as Excursions #1 which we had right before; kind of like an Excursions-lite. Reminds me more of Edward, and super easy to drink a lot of. Very good, worth checking out.

A: Beautiful looking beer--straw/yellow and murky. 2 finger white head with a ton of lacing.
S: Yup thats the stuff. Galaxy hops are huge on the nose. Definitely some good, funky earthiness though, too. Really delightful
T: Hoppy, hoppy beer. I was actually a little surprised it has so much bite and stays at only 5.5% If you love Galaxy hops this is a dream beer for you. Good malt backbone that keeps it in balance.
M: This was the only area I wasn't blown away. Little high on the carbonation for me.
O: Really fantastic beer. I really enjoyed the hop forward aggression here in an APA. Once again HF kills it. Great stuff.

Picked this up at the brewery yesterday. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Poured a nice hazy light gold hue with a BIG two finger creamy white head that fades slowly to leave loads of sticky lacing and a dense, creamy blanket. Picture perfect.

S - Aromas of earthy hops, lightly herbal. Very nicely spicy too, which was a surprise. The citrus notes are great too, more zest like than fruit flesh. Lemons, clementines, light light malt backbone. Very aromatic.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, more earthy notes, super faint herbalness, the pine pops out in the taste too before playing second fiddle to the wonderful citrus notes. Light lemons, oranges, grapefruit, soft malts to balance things out. Not assertively bitter though it does definitely come out more and more with each sip.

M - Mouthfeel is spot on and nicely carbonated and crisp. As per usual with Shaun's beers.

O - Overall this beer was really, really pleasant. Very well crafted showcasing of galaxy hops, which to be fair I feel does a better job than Double Galaxy. Well done sirs, well done.

750ml growler poured into a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass.

A~ bright glowing yellow with a huge head and lots of lacing.

S~ really earthy! slighty bread like malt and a lot of citrus.

T~ more earth here! grassy, hay, pine, and a ton of hop bitterness all followed by amazing citrusy fruits, orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, etc...

M~ extremely dry from the hops but still smooth and refreshing. somehow... haha

O~ it always amazes me how well these are balanced for being so hoppy! tons of hop bitterness up front that magically transforms into an island of tropical fruit... crazy! this one is definitely just as good as the rest, Galaxy always does it for me!
