Perfectly ripe Centennial hops from nearby Whitefield Hop Yard (exactly 5 miles driving) were harvested Friday morning and immediately driven to the brewery, where they were added directly to a tank of American pale ale. These wet, undried, whole cones will steep over the Labor Day weekend, then be packaged and immediately served for onsite enjoyment and for 750ml growlers to go.
After admiring decades of wet-hop beer tradition throughout the West Coast brewing community, the quality of these hops grown locally by our friends at at Whitefield Hop Yard have allowed us to join this tradition.

On tap in the brewery taproom.
Pours golden, bright, only a little bit of haze, mostly clear. Thick and long lasting off white head of small bubbled foam.
Aroma is intense and earthy. Resinous. Grass, hay, resinous pine sap and some zesty citrus.
Flavor is full of earthy layers. Quite unique compared to most of HF options. Resinous hop oils, pine, fresh mowed hay. Some bitter grapefruit rind and just a hint of sweet fruit pushes through and becomes more pronounced as it warms.
Moderate carbonation, soft, medium body.
A unique and interesting option. Full on earthy hop flavor and aroma.
