On tap at the Blackback Pub & Flyshop in that little beer hub of Waterbury, VT.
Poured a poeasant shade of orangy amber, under a lazy and loose medium tan head. Shows better the average fine sheeting and spotty lace. Minty nose with a slight tea infusion.
Dry, tasty and hoppy ale, with the Sorachi hops shining through. Crisp on the tongue and thoroughly pleasing over the lips and down the gullet. I also pick up a slight sour note adding to complexity and interest. Nice stuff, impressed with this, my second brew from Hill Farmstead.

Purchased this last weekend.

Pours a mild amber color with a two finger head that fades down in my tulip.

Aroma is chock full of citrust, mainly lemon and grapefruit in the nose. Very appealing to the nose. Almost too fruit-y.

Taste is clean with a very nice hint of bready malt followed by citrus and lemon flavors. Well-balanced and full of flavor. If you've never had anything brewed with sorachi ace hops, you might be thrown off at first.

Mouthfeel is full of lingering citrus flavors. Just a hint of the malt is left as well.

Sorachi Ace hops seem to be the new "in" thing but regardless, this IPA does a great job of showcasing them. Again, if you've never heard of the Sorachi Ace hop, check this out!

Had the pleasure of trying this brew at the Hill Farmstead brewery and took a fresh growler home for current sampling.

Pours a wonderfully smooth, slightly hazy, amber-orange color into my HFB Euro lager pint glass. A silky thick white froth builds up into a 2-finger head that settles into a spotty cap throughout the rest of the drink. Light sticky lacing up the glass walls.

A mild aroma of young pine, light citrus, woody cedar notes and ever so subtle soft tropical fruits.

The taste is unique for a pale ale. Aside from the balanced qualities of the malt-to-hops the Sorachi Ace hops impart flavors distinct from many others: coconut, cedar, lemon. These are in addition to the common qualities of American hops: light pine, citrus. Really well balanced flavor between biscuity malt and refreshing, quenching and addictive hop flavors. After ever sip I want another.

The flavor finishes clean and crisp with a slight pine bitterness in the aftertaste. Super nice. Water quality is clearly very good. I wish I could drink this fresh every night!

12oz pour at The Farmhouse Tap & Grill.

Medium amber, clear and with thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Nose is full of pine, mango, lavender, fresh-cut grass, lemon and some caramel.

Palate is crisp and dense with lots of forest-y flavors, woodsy, lavender continues and lots and lots of pine + white grapefruit = delicious character. There's some creaminess to the mouthfeel despite the bitter hops. 15 minutes later i still don't have my tastebuds back from the astringent (but delightful) hops.

A must-try!
