Next in our series of fruit harvest selections, we paired a blend of our Farmstead® ales—all of which rested in oak for more than 20 months—with organic wild Maine blueberries from Merrill Blueberry Farms in Hancock, Maine. This harmonized occurrence has rested in the bottle since May 2021, achieving its balance of complex acidity and seasonal fruit representation.

This one pours a dark purplish color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells darkly of tart and juicy blueberry, with red wine, and some lemon.
This is the 2020 Harvest version, and it’s aged quite well, with a pleasantly sort and tart blueberry character. It’s much less sour than I’d think at this age, with a nice jammy red wine note, berry, raisin, and black cherry, and even maybe a bit of chocolate. There’s tart lemon and some oakiness, too.
This is light bodied, pleasantly tart and pretty drinkable.
I really didn’t expect this to be as good as it was.

Blueberry colored pour with alot of chunky sediment and no lacing. Aroma is tart, twangy, blueberry. Taste is just as expected with tart, twangy blueberry but perfectly done right down the middle being not too tart and not too twangy. Big medium body with a lingering dry puckering.
