In June, we sent organic wheat grown by our neighbors Seth and Jeannette Johnson at Morningstar Farm in Glover to Valley Malt to be malted. Then, with the personal assistance of the grower himself, Kevin Broderick, we hopped the beer with a trio of Centennial, Chinook, and Cascade hops from his Whitefield Hop Yard in nearby East Hardwick. The result is a buoyant, aromatic American pale ale that celebrates our neighbors and the fleeting season.

Somewhat turbid dark maize with a thin off-white head, though this is on draft in a shaker pint glass at a regular bar.
Overall mild and drinkable, this is a lightly prickly pale ale with a medium-light body that hits notes of toasted biscuit and cologne, finishing semi-bitter but with a hint of strawberry.

Can. White head with a ton of lace. Hazy golden sunset.
Hoppy, bitter, fruity, citrusy. Wheat, orange, citrus, mango, papaya, guava. Floral notes. Nice bitter finish. Summer crusher, but also a nice hoppy beer.
How is this only 5%

On tap at Sabatinis in Exeter pa earlier this evening.
Great looking beer, hazy dull yellowish body with a massive persistent white head which left rings of lacing. Aroma was hoppy, fruity. On tasting, clean refreshing. The finish was a delight. A touch of sweetness progressing to a non citrus fruit flavor finishing with a strong hoppy bitterness. Excellent beer.

very hazy and good body for the ABV. Hops are more on the herbal/grassy/minty side with good bitterness. not my preferred flavors but impressive given it is 5%.

On tap at Tip Tap Room, Boston. Loving that draft availability around here continues to expand. Like many of their offerings with these "hyper-local" ingredients, the hops in particular fall a little flat and one dimensional bitter. Vermont just isn't a great place to grow hops, imo. Still tasty

Draught. Nose and palate lightly citrus, maybe grape fruit. Finish is bitter. Not super flavorful. Don't care for the Finish.

Poured from the 16 oz can, dated 6/19/23 into the test glass
A - A straw colored backdrop, carbonation is hidden in there. A good poor yields a loose knit froththy cap.
S - Earthy grains, with wheat up front, some orange peel, mingles seamlessly with spruce tip/piney notes all subtle
T - Lemongrass. orange, pine all on a a beautiful snappy cracker malt base, there is a slight peppery finish
M - Medium in body with a smooth texture, not sweet, not not to bitter, and a pleasant dry finish.
O - A very good pale ale, with the wheat driving the boat, hoppy, while staying in tight range. beautiful offering. The bonus here is the story of using the local ingredients.
