Anna Valiquette Hill (1902-1993) was Edward’s sister, whose memory we honor with her namesake Farmstead® ale crafted with Vermont wildflower honey.
We aged a small portion of the beer aged atop raspberry and cherry pomace from the 2019 harvest season (Elmore Roots and Allenholm Farm, respectively). The result highlights the essence of each fruit within the iconic canvas of Anna®—a variant worthy of her graceful, distinctive middle name.

Onsite bottle at Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro Bend, VT, bottled 2020 and released 2022, I believe.
This one pours a soft pinkish reddish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like caramelized honey, citrus, cherry pits, raspberry juice, and lemon.
Lots of fruited wild ales can be real overwhelming with the fruit character, and that’s not really the case here. There’s more raspberry, and the cherry is a bit of a shadow, adding more a cool little vibe to it. Anna is still apparent, with a nice sun-kissed honey note, and lots of citrus and wine barrel.
This is lighter bodied, clean, crisp, and not too acidic.
I’ve really liked all of these Anna Valiquette variants, much more than the straight up Anna fruited variants that came out a bit later than this series.

L -- Honestly does not look that appealing. Quite still in the glass with just a small ring of suds. Semi murky nectarine hued body. Even decanting carefully there is some sediment in suspension
S -- Complete turnaround here. Rich aromas of fruit leather, cherry pie, raspberry jam, lemon peel, barnyard funk, and dried floral
T -- Noticeably tarter than base Anna. The cherry and raspberry carry through but are offset somewhat by the funky lemony acidity from the mixed fermentation. Tiny bit of diacetyl in the finish, but it's barely noticeable
F -- Slippery and easy drinking. Not overwhelmingly puckering or tannic
O -- Hard to discern the differences between this "series" of fruited Anna beers and their Harvest series of fruited beers, where they don't talk much about what's in the base
80/100
