Has a pretty clear and clean appearance, super bubbly, creamy head, strong citrus aroma. Very strong hop presence. Fans of Northwest style IPA's will not be let down by that aspect. Hop content almost reminds me of an imperial. The finish has that sweet side of a grapefruit linger. May be not a very drinkable beer for some, but I slurped this thing up quickly. This is what you would probably call a hop bomb, though it does have a very easy finish. I enjoyed mucho.

Bottle to becher pint glass, the appearance was a semi-burnt orange to copper color with a finger's worth of rocky off white foamy head. Some light lace.
The aroma had some grassy sweet to semi-citrusy to subtle piney sweet hops. Nice biscuit/bready backbone, somewhat caramel/toffee malts.
The flavor was moderately sweet with a stiff bitterness to it. Aftertaste was full of the hops.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it, but somewhat chewy. ABV felt adequate. Carbonation felt fine.
Overall, this one pretty much kicks ya in the teeth with the hop chewiness, me I didn't mind so much, it's one of those West Coast styled IPA's, I get it and would welcome it again if I could get it again.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium coppery amber with a half finger white head that dissipates to a thin film and ring around the glass with light lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt, tropical fruit, citrus hops. Flavor is piney citrus hops with a bit of dankness.caramel malt, citrus and light tropical fruit. Pleasant medium creamy body. A nice citrus forward IPA that has nice resiny pine and a quite decent hop finish that asks for further tasting. Airways produces some very nice ales and is probably underestimated as a brewery. I liked this a lot; rich flavor for a standard strength IPA.

A ton of flavor for a filtered beer. Heavier than most ipas. If you love hops and you aren't afraid to have beer for dinner, this is one of the best non imperials that I've had, I strongly recommend letting it kick your seat!

Color is orange-amber in the Ciney chalice with a modest white foam. Lots of spritz on the tongue. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Big hop aromatics with a honeysuckle nose and plentiful pine.

Some plain malty taste with a little sweetness to start. Tangy with an acidic bite. The hops are spicy with a little pineapple taste, but the grapefruit pith takes over before long. Then the bitterness does in fact go on and on.

This has some pleasant hop taste and loads of fragrance, but it's really bitter and I find it not very drinkable. All that may be taken as a recommendation for the hardened hop seeker. I much prefer their Sky Hag IPA. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Special Brews in Lynnwood.

Lacking major hops. Smooth like a pils or lager. 80/100

Had this beer at Hard Rock Cafe Anchorage poured draft in a pilsner glass. It had medium amber with a clean malt aroma. There was medium lacing and a two finger head that took about ten minutes to settle to a thin foam. The taste was a clean not-overpowering hops that just barely overtook the roasty malt undertones. It was a clean finish with medium carbonation and definitely heavier than it looks or smells. I would consider it if I wanted some IPA bitterness without the power that would attack the flavor of the next beer.

Imagine walking into a spruce or pine forest and plucking the greenest, most succulent leaves off of one of the trees...now, take those leaves and begin chewing on them to extract all of their oily resiny goodness. For good measure, go peel a big, juicy grapefruit and begin chewing on the peel along with it... That's what sips of this beer is like... The aromas are fairly subdued and do nothing to prepare one for the sheer bitterness and oiliness of this... After reading some of the reviews, I s expecting a serviceable IPA but this thing is intense and delicious... Not many beers surprise me anymore but this one sure did.. Deep bitterness and pine needle flavor have me reeling with excitement... Amazing beer from the Northwest! Man, I would buy this regularly... Probably not for everyone due to the intense bitterness but I love it...
