The appearance was a subtle dark brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within a minute. There’s a light spider web lacing clinging along the sides of the glass. The smell had a sweet dark chocolate to milk chocolate coming through in a roasty note. The taste was basically the same. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but slightly subdued as this beer just rolls eloquently smooth and somewhat silky over my tongue. Overall, I say this was a wonderful sweet stout that I definitely would have again.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a white to off white slim little head that quickly dissipated and barely left any lacing. What was there was moderately stringy.
The smell had a super light blend of chocolate to roasty coffee here and there but a slight vinegary to sour edge comes in. "Ruh roh, Reorge!"
The taste was delicately sweet with the roast trying to come back but still that vinegary to sour edge comes out just a hair.
The mouthfeel was about light to medium bodied with a decent sessionable feel to it. Carbonation runs pretty light.
Overall, hmmm...I may have had an infected bottle with that vinegary/sour aroma and flavor. Only willing to try again if I could find a date on it.

Dark color, pretty. Pale tan head, fine lacing, good persistence.
Smells a bit lagery - sour, not classic stout.
Moderately rich mouthfeel. More the body of a porter, rather than a stout.
Flavor is mild, a bit bitter, not malty.
Overall this reads more like a black IPA/porter blend.
Overall this is ok, not great or special.

Dark brown, nearly black, with a nicely sudsy pour. Suitably fizzy on the tongue. There seems to be some velvety sensation along with the lighter mouthfeel.
Dark roast malt flavors with just a hint of sweetness. Tastes like cocoa rather than dark chocolate. There is a little winey character and that touch of sweet malt. The hops are restrained but brewed with enough to leave a bitterish aftertaste. This is grainy with something like corn. Quite a mineral tang, and a little chalky.
Pleasantly drinkable dark brew. The flavoring is not too strong but there's a little vegetable taste that keeps this from being a favorite. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Special Brews in Lynnwood

Poured into a Reuben's Brew snifter. Pours opaque black with a massive half glass light brown head; kinda overcarbonated. Good retention and lots of lacing. Nice aroma of toasted malt and chocolate, light vanilla. Flavor is toasted, lightly charred malt, chocolate and coffee, rich. Medium bodied with active carbonation. A nice flavored stout, with good char notes to the malt and surprisingly rich flavor. Leans towards the roasty/charred end of the flavor spectrum, emphasizing malt and coffee over the expected chocolate. Body is thinner than I anticipated, but probably because the flavor is more robust than I expected from a 5.2% stout. A worthy effort from a consistantly good brewery.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Pours an almost opaque super brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and vanilla aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and coffee flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some solid aromas and flavors.
