Beautiful amber pour with a pillowy white head. Good retention and lacing. Be prepared for particulates!!

Starts out with sweet caramel malts and flora, citrusy and some mild tropical fruit. This is a fantastic smelling IPA

Starts off staunchly bitter, with grapefruit taking the lead. Good balance coming from that caramel sweet before finishing back firmly in the bitter camp, pithy citrus and earthy pine.
Man, that one kind of came out of nowhere. Fantastic.

Color is the classic orangey amber with a modest foam in the New Belgium snifter. While there is a pleasant sudsy mouthfeel, the head is not long-lasting. Aroma is great-- orange and citrus peel.

Toasty at the first sip but the hops take over. This is really quite dry for a big IPA, though it's a decent taste. Accentuates the acidic hops, though. Piney with a grapefruit taste that veers into the grapefruit bitter pith for the aftertaste.

This is an interesting, more austere DIPA with an abundance of hops and more bitterness at the finish than it needs. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Special Brews in Lynwood, Washington.

A: Poured a golden orangish color with good carbonation leaving a nice foamy white cap, good amount of bubbles and fair amount of lacing persists after a few minutes

S: Pine needles and citrus all the way. Caramel base perhaps?

T: Immediate resinous hops with big pine needles and grapefruit/orange peel. A nice amount of bitterness on this persists. Big hops upfront but then a chewy caramel malt bill appears in attempts to keep this beast balanced. The finish has loads of citrus and pine with a little booze sting, nice bittering

M: Medium-full bodied, well carbonated, chewy on the end at times. Plenty of damn hops!

O: I was pleasantly surprised!

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with active carbonation and a nice two finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of bready malt, pineapple and other tropical fruit, citrus hops. Flavor is citrus hops, grapefruit and citrus juice, neutral malt, finishing with a lingering citrus rind and citrus hops. Nice medium body with some creaminess; good mouth feel. Starts out with unexceptional citrus hops but finishes with a good hop wallop and good citrusy fruit with lingering bitterness. Could use a bit more malt presence, but a good, well made IIPA. An hard to find IPA brewed not to far away.

Next beer on my tour of WA state brews.

Deep golden yellow with small white head.
Heavy citrus/piney hops. Smells like a thick, heavy resinous IPA.
Hops outshine the malt completely, More chewy lemony citrus. Not too bitter, despite the aroma.
Nicely carbonated. Would benefit from a slightly finer carbonation.
Overall a nice surprise. Not the best double IPA I have had, but by no means a disappointment.
