look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5
The beer is clear and dark reddish brown, has a high compact tan head, good lacing and good curtains.
The smell has malt, brown bread, yeast, ripe pears and hops, wet coarse grass.
The taste starts with sweet brown bread, lemon curd marmalade, then bitter grass and nettles.
Medium carbonation, small almost foamy bubbles, slightly sticky, a good body and a light dry finish.
A rather hoppy, yet quite balanced red ale. Works well if you don't mind the american hops.

The colour is dark red-brown (30 EBC), the liquid is clear. The very low head disappears almost immediately. Lots of yeast in the bottle.
The smell is fruity/hoppy with distinct notes of milk chocolate bars. Hints of red berries. Very low bitterness. Hints of solvents in the background.
The taste is dry and bitter with some fruity/citric hoppy flavours. Earthy hints of red roasted malt. Medium to mild bitterness. Weak body. The aftertaste brings dry hints of green bananas, caramel, roasted nuts and a slowly growing dry clan bitterness. Some very fragile notes of alcohol and solvents. The finish is dry with a touch of chocolate.
The carbonation is medium to mild, the small bubbles are smooth. The liquid is light.
I liked the chocolate flavours, but not the rather weak smell and body.
