Not too bad of a blood orange IPA it doesn't have a very extreme bitterness and is fruity and flavorful. Easy drinking and good body. One of them more flavorful ipas made by odd side.

Fantastic citrus loaded IPA tried on tap at Odd Side Ales. Great looking, slightly deeper golden color with some nice haze and a great cap of fluffy white head and sheets of lingering lacing that only very slowly receded. Smells of nice bitter citrus zest hops - orange, lemon, mango, grapefruit - as well as some weaker malt, vanilla and floral hops. Taste follows the nose, extremely well balanced, good malt backbone sweetness offset by the good hit of hoppy bitterness at the finish. Smooth, mild mouthfeel, good carbonation. An excellent, refreshing, crisp IPA. Good for a hot summer day.

Pours hazy orange. Foamy, medium, off white head that lasts a while with good lacing.

Smells orange, citrus peel, fruit and malts.

Taste sweet orange, fruity. Followed by citrus peel, Pine, bready malt and light caramel. Finishes semi-dry with citrus peel linger and light orange. Medium body and fizzy medium carbonation.

No bottling date

Appearance - Pours hazy and copper orange in color with a white, half finger width head. Sub-par retention results in a thin, broken layer of suds. A few small spots make up the lacing.

Smell - Moderate aroma. Orange peel. Faint breadiness.

Taste - Follows the nose. Fair orange flavor. Mild earthiness. Faint malt that hits on bread and a trace of caramel. Light spice bite in the finish with a hint of orange pith lingering in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with light, bitey carbonation. Slick texture with a slightly dry finish.

Overall - No bottling date found so I have no idea the freshness here, and so reviewing it as is, and as is isn't too impressive. Odd amount of earthiness for a blood orange infused brew.

I like how this has all the build up to be a sweet IPA but the hops mellow everything out. Nice citrus flavors and aromas with a perfect malty hop backbone. Better than most of the fruit based IPA's.

Decent beer... Nice tartness from the orange and the head/lacing is good. Turned off by the floating sediment moving through the beer as carbonation bubbles rise from the bottom.

I picked up a bottle of Oddside's Blood Orange IPA last week for $2.09 at The Lager Mill. I've had more than a few blood orange IPA's and i'm interested to see how this will turn out, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into an IPA glass.

A- The label looks good, it works well with this beer and goes well with the name. It poured a hazy darker orange color that takes on more of a golden orange color when held to the light with almost two fingers worth of creamy and slightly bubbly off white head that died down to a thick ring that stayed till the end and it left some nice rings of patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with a nice fruit aroma being the first to show up, it starts off with the blood orange, then it moves on to some fruit hops with some citrus rind and tropical fruit aromas coming through along with a little bit of green hop aroma and a citrus pith like aroma. Up next comes a little bit of doughy and slightly creamy yeast that leads into the malts which impart some pale malt and sweet malt like aroma. This beer has pretty nice aroma, it's what I would expect from a blood orange IPA.

T- The taste seems to be similar to te aroma, but a little lighter and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the same fruity aspects being the first to show up, it's a little lighter than it was in the aroma, but the blood orange is a little noticeable and the fruity hops aren't as strong as they were in the aroma, this time the green hops seem to stick out the most. Up next comes a slight bit of doughy yeast that goes into the malts which impart all the same aspects that it did in the aroma. On the finish there's a slightly higher amount of medium bitterness with a sweet malt, citrusy and hoppy aftertaste. This is a nice tasting beer, but I wish the blood orange and fruity hops showed up more.

M- Fairly smooth, slightly refreshing, crisp, on the slightly thicker side of being medium bodied with a higher amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is nice, but I wish it was a little smoother.

Overall I thought this was a nice beer and solid example of the style, it had most of the things that i look for in this type of beer, but It seemed to be lacking on some of the key flavors and it just wasn't as fruity and as intense as I was hoping for. This beer had ok drinkability, I think one is enough for me. What I like the most about this beer is the appearance and aroma, to me they were the highlight of this beer. What I like the least about this beer is that the blood orange wasn't highlight as much as I hoped it would be. I don't think I would buy this beer again, there's other blood orange IPA's I would rather have. I can't say it's a must try, but if balances what you are looking for than this might be worth a try. All in all I liked this beer, but I didn't love it and I think it would be better with more fruity hops and more blood orange. It's not a favorite Oddside's beer and it's just a little above average for the style. Nice job guys, this is a solid beer.

Great smelling ipa of orange, pineapple and grapefruit. Nice and juicy and hoppy orange flavors. Goes down smooth and not to overpowering at 7.0 percent. Oddsides makes some really great beers and some I just don't understand. This one is a winner in my opinion.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/2/2016. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops, blood orange, and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, lemon/orange rind, pine, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, blood orange, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop/fruit astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is a very nice fruit IPA. Al laround nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, blood orange, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Not overdone on the fruit; with balanced hops and good vibrancy. A very enjoyable offering.
