Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a nice looking copper/bronze color with a two finger white foamy head that settled at a decent pace. Some light stringy and foamy lace stuck to around the glass fairly nice.
The aroma had some sweet fleshy mango character up front melding with some bitter grassy ends, light citrus and ended with a little bit of dried malt.
The flavor leaned towards the sweetness initially and brought the bitterness in subtly underneath with that dried malt to congregate and meld into the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good, stable. ABV felt on par.
Overall, pretty nice fruited IPA that I could come back to if I could get it again.

Thanks to docoman for this 12 oz. bottle. Being near the home field of Mango Mama, this has a stiff memory to live up to, but I’ll try not to compare.

Pour is darker than I expect, shaded orange, perhaps the influence of the fruit. Smells like a mango flavored Jolly Rancher, simultaneously sweet & sharp.

Mango IPA tastes like a session IPA, i.e. watery & limp. Suggestion of mango, light bitterness, bit of crackery melody. Mouthfeel is really watered down. I suppose one could drink a ton of this, if one was so inclined.

Fruit miss, IPA miss, beer miss. Lowest common denominator in a way that I haven’t experienced previously from Odd Side. Not very good.

Had this on-tap at Terry's Terrace a week or so ago.

Meh.

I love Odd Side, but this one just doesn't quite cut it. It's an average IPA with some essence of mango added to it, but there's nothing special to say about it. Honestly, I've tasted mango stronger in IPAs that weren't even brewed with it. Nicely balanced, but the flavors are rather "been there, done that" and far from special. Still, it's an easy drinker I certainly wouldn't mind having a few of in a session

I picked up a bottle of Oddside's Mango IPA for $2.09 at The Lager Mill. I'm always down to try a new beer from Oddsides and I'm interested to see what they can do with this mango IPA, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a IPA glass.

A- The label looks good, it's clever and it's eye catching. It poured a darker orange color that took on more of a brighter orange color when held to the light with a little over a fingers worth of creamy light tan head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left a little bit of spotty lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the mango being the first to show up and it imparts a big fruity and natural mango juice like aroma that makes it live up to it's name and it's followed by the hops which impart a fruity, floral and light dank hops aromas. Up next comes a little bit of doughy yeast that leads into the malts which impart a pale malt, sweet malt, light bready and light grainy like aromas. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, but I wish the hops would show up a little more.

T- The taste seems to be similar, but it's just a little lighter and it starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the mango still being the first to show and it imparts the same nice mango aspects that they did in the aroma, they are just a little lighter this time. Up next comes the hops which are on the light side and they impart the same aspects, but they are pretty light and they are followed by some doughy yeast with the malts showing up towards the end and they impart all the nice aspects that they did in the aroma. On the finish there's a medium amount of bitterness with a mango and lightly hoppy aftertaste. This is a pretty nice tasting beer, but I wish the IPA base was bolder.

M- Smooth, a little crisp, a little refreshing, on the slightly lighter side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and I thought it was a solid example of the style, it delivered when it came to the IPA aspect, but when it came to the IPA base it was a little lighter than I would like and that ended up holding this beer back. This beer has nice drinkability, I could drink a couple of them when it's warm out, but the lack of hops would start to wear on me. What I like the most about this beer is the mango aspects, it's good and it makes this beer lives up to the mango part of it's name. What I like the least about this beer is the IPA, I thought it was a little on the weak side and I thought myself wanting more of a hops presence. I might buy this beer again and I wouldn't turn one down. I can't say it;s a must try, but if you want a beer that delivers on the mango flavors then it's worth checking out. All in all I liked this beer, but I didn't love it and I think if the IPA base was a little bolder it would bring better balance to this beer and I would like it more. It's not a favorite Oddsides beer and it's a solid example of the style. Nice job guys, this is a solid beer.

Pours a dark orange color with a medium white head on top. Has a orange mango citrus smell accompanied by some hops. The mango really sticks out in the taste along with the malts and hops.

Nice mango smell and flavor. Nothing too special but a fairly enjoyable ipa that's easy drinking. Could see my self drinking 3 or 4 of these in one evening.

Bottle from a sixer. Nice attempt at a fruited IPA. On a fresh palate the fruit is weak and the IPA side weak too. Switching yo this after something dark there is lots of mango. Maybe even too sweet there. Compares to the fruit versions of ballast point stuff, minus that hop punch. Overall like that oddside delivers new stuff seemingly every month. This one is just mediocre.
