For simple IPA of about 7%abv this is delicious. Has flavors of pine bitterness hops along with grapefruit, cantaloupe, lemon zest, star fruit, and kiwi as well as bready malt and earthy grassy goodness. Pretty dank for single IPA and a tad of sweetness from the Belgian sugars.

Hey yeah! I had to try this beer. Being I'm Jared and all. Hazy Belgian appearance with a very tall, fluffy head. Lots of lace left behind.
Clove, pepper, lemon, poppyseed on the nose. Faint piney hops (Chinook?). Nothing too exciting here.
Flavor is much of the same, showcasing the lemon, mainly the rind. A sharp piney hop flavor comes out, some raw peppercorns, and finally the Clove/Belgian yeast smacks you at the end.
Feel is appropriately carbonated, with a resinous finish.
Overall, a bit underwhelming, but I'm glad I could try this! Thanks superspak!

I picked up a bottle of Oddside's Jared's Mom for $2.19 at The Lager Mill last week. It;s been a little while since I've had a Belgian style IPA and I thought I would take a chance on this one, so lets see how it goes. 12/15/ 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into an IPA glass.
A- The label looks nice, it goes well with the name and it's eye catching. It poured a nice darker orange color that took on more of a golden orange color when held to the light and it had a finger and half worth of slightly creamy off white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed til the end and it left some patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, I have no complaints.
S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with a nice fruity aroma being the first to show up and it imparts some nice stone fruit like aromas with no single one sticking out the most and it goes right in the fruity hops which impart a nice mixture of tropical and citrus fruit like aromas that have a nice juicy aspect to them with some noticeable green hops and a little bit of dank hops showing up in the background. Up next comes the belgian yeast which imparts some bubble gum aroma with a slight hint of banana with just a little bit of spices in the background and it goes into the malts which are light and impart some pale malt and sweet malt like aroma. This beer has a good aroma, the fruity aromas work well well with the Belgian yeast.
T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma, but it's much lighter and a little watery and it starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the hops being the first to show up and they impart pretty much the same hop profile, but this time it's much more full of green and dank hops with more of a grapefruit and citrus rind fruit flavor this time. Up next comes the yeast which is a lot lighter and it impart more of doughy aspect that the Belgian yeast like aspects that it did in the aroma and it imparts just a little bit of those stone fruit aspects. Up next comes the malts which just impart a grainy, pale malt, watery and sweet malt flavor. On the finish there's lighter amount of medium bitterness with a hoppy and watery malt like aftertaste. This is a decent tasting beer, but it's disappointing that the belgian yeast never really shows up.
M- Fairly smooth, pretty crisp, a little clean, slightly creamy, on the thicker side of being medium bodied with a higher amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.
Overall I thought this was a decent beer and it wasn't a great example of the style, simply because the belgian yeast never really show up in the taste and that made it not live up to it's description. This beer had ok drinkability, I could drink one, but it would have a hard time holding my attention after more than that. What I like the most about this beer is the aroma and appearance, they are easily the highlights of this beer. What I like the least about this beer is the taste, it was a little bit of a let down and in general it was just much lighter than I wanted it to be. I don;t think I would buy this beer again, but I might try it again if I knew it was very fresh. I can't say I would recommend this one, it's not too hard to find a better Belgian style IPA. All in all I was a little let down with this beer, it's not bad tasting, but I don't think it really lives up to being called a Belgian style IPA. It's one of my lest favorite Oddside beers that I've had lately and it's pretty close to being average for the sty;e. Better luck next time guys, this one could use some work.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/15/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy medium golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, apricot, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, melon, pear, lemon zest, orange peel, peppercorn, clove, pine, light banana/citrus rind, cracker, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, apricot, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, melon, pear, lemon zest, orange peel, peppercorn, clove, pine, light banana/citrus rind, cracker, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, apricot, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, melon, pear, lemon/orange rind, peppercorn, clove, pine, cracker, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky/resinous, and fairly grainy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is a very nice Belgian IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink. Great balance between hop/yeast flavors, with just enough malt for bitterness balance. A very enjoyable offering.
