Nice clean, crisp, well-balanced IPA that wasn’t too sweet nor bitter. Pours a nice honeyed darker orange with some nice white fluffy head and a little spotty lingering lacing. Smells of grapefruit and orange fruity hops, as well as a little malt and dankness. Tastes similarly, along with caramel, vanilla and bread. Fairly well balanced, just a little more sweetness without the juiciness or bitter hoppiness at the end that I’m used to. Smooth thin mild mouthfeel, good carbonation. Nice IPA but I’ve definitely had better from this brewery.

Bright hobe color , yes that’s the best description I can give. Nose is a bit bready dank. Flavor is ripe with hops, but that fades with a malty backbone. Decent ipa. Would buy again.

First beer from OddSide in awhile. Grabbed this as a single for $2.79 at my local craft shop. Always love a grapefruit forward IPA. Let's see what we get.

Look - Super murky yellow with a half finger of head. Carbonation appears moderate. Lacing and stick are minimal upon a finished glass.

Smell - Lemon zest with a moderate grapefruit. Soapy.

Taste - The lemon zest and soapy aspects dominate this one and the grapefruit is more of a melded effect instead of the dominate flavor.

Feel - Fully bodied with a prickly carbonation. Swallows lemony and easy.

Overall - Really easy drinking and tasty IPA. All hop forward here. Wasn't the exact form of grapefruit I was looking for, but still pretty good. Solid start to a long night of reviews and drawing ever closer to beer number 1,000.

I picked up a bottle of Oddside Ales Trendilicious last week for $1.99 at The Lager Mill. I like grapefruit IPA's and I;m interested to see what Oddside's is bringing to the table, so lets see how it goes. 2017 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into an IPA glass.

A- The label looks nice, it goes well with the name and it's a little eye catching. It poured a nice hazy orange color that took on golden orange color when held to the light and it had almost a fingers worth of slightly creamy and slightly bubbly off white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some nice rings of patchy lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the grapefruit being the first to show up and it imparts a nice authentic and juicy fresh grapefruit like aroma that goes into the hops which impart some citrus rind, light floral, grassy and light dank hops like aromas. Up next comes a little bit of doughy yeast and that leads into the malts which impart some nice pale malt. light grainy, light caramel malts, bready, bread crust and sweet malt like aromas. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, the grapefruit shows up just enough and there's some nice balance.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma, but lighter than I was expecting and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the grapefruit aspects being the first to show up, but they impart more of a rind flavor than a juicy fresh grapefruit aspect like they did in the aroma and it's followed by the hops which are a little lighter than they were in the aroma, but they still impart all the same aspects with no single one seeming to stick out the most. Up next comes a little bit of doughy yeast that leads into the malts which impart all the same aspects that they did in the aroma, but this time they show up more, a little too much so. On the finish there's a light amount of medium bitterness with a light grapefruit, light hoppy and malty aftertaste. This is a nice tasting beer, but I was hoping the grapefruit would be showcased a little more and I thought that the balance was a little off.

M- Smooth, slightly refreshing, a little crisp, not overly bitter, medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a nice beer and I thought it was a solid example of the style, it wasn't as bold as I was expecting, but it was a little more easy drinking than I expected. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple, but after that I would start to get bored of the taste. What I like the most about this beer is the aroma and mouthfeel, they were both pretty nice and the highlights of this beer. What I like the least about this beer is the balance in the taste, I wish more hops and grapefruit showed up with a little less malty flavors. I don't think i would buy this beer again, but I wouldn't turn one down, it's not too hard to find a better Grapefruit IPA. and I would only recommend it you want a grapefruit IPA that's more on the lighter side. All in all I liked this beer, but I didn't love it and I think with some more work on the taste and balance and this could be a very nice beer. It's not a favorite Oddsides beer and it's a solid example of the style, Solid job guys, but with a little more work this could be a better beer, better luck next time.

I respect the sentiment "Everybody's doing it." It's true. There are so many AIPAs with grapefruit added, and for good reason. They almost always are delicious and refreshing. This may not even be one of the better ones, but it is still good.

It looks nice in a glass, with loads of lacing and a cloudy yellow color. The aroma is a funky AIPA smell, plus. The taste is fairly typical of the sub-style, with maybe a bit less of the grapefruit and a bit more hops coming through. That grows on you. It is extremely drinkable.

Recommended, though it is a contradiction (Odd Side, yet just like everybody else).

A: Moderately hazed yellow-gold, the white head forms a sizable cap that keeps form and leaves goof patching on the walls of the glass.
S: The hops come off strong and then fade a little more quickly than I'd like. What I get is a pretty good bouquet of citrus, grapefruit eventually taking the lead, with tropical fruits balancing biscuity malt with some floral hops notes trailing behind.
T: This is a nicely hopped beer up front, I just wish it would stick around on the palate. Grapefuit mingles with orange zest and pineapple, while malts are biscuity with a doughy element. Some dryer, somewhat less juicy notes come underneath.
M: The body is medium but fades at the end of each sip; it's fairly smooth, thinning out at the end, and it has only enough crispness to keep the feel average.

mfg 12/22/16 on bottle

Appearance- from a hardy pour it's slightly transparent with an orange color. frothy white head leaves some decent lacing.

Aroma- just getting a orange/ tangerine scent with some floral notes. maybe funk from the yeast. different and not a bad thing.

Taste- exactly how it smells. a slight bitterness. getting a slight onion taste. wouldn't be surprised if summit hops are in this. not much malt action going on. maybe alil biscuit notes.

Mouthfeel- light bodied. good carbonation for it being like water.

Drinkability- easily gonna crush this single but wouldn't want to grab a six of this. not bad but wayyyy to many better options out there.

Overall- this brew reminds me of a pale wheat with some orange juice in it. it starts out with a strong orange/ tangerine taste but the more you drink the more grapefruit notes appear.
