12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/9/2019. Pours lightly hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lightly tart limes, lemon, citrus peel/zest, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, sea salt, tequila, toasted oak, honey, agave, graham cracker, and biscuit dough; with lighter notes of herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of limes, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge lightly tart limes, lemon, citrus peel/zest, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, sea salt, tequila, toasted oak, honey, agave, graham cracker, and biscuit dough; with lighter notes of herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; tequila/oak tannin spiciness; and light citrus tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart limes, lemon, citrus peel/rind, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, sea salt, tequila, toasted oak, honey, agave, graham cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of limes, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness, spicy oak, and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness, oak spiciness, and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, fairly sticky/resin/rindy/tannic, and lightly slick/acidic/saline balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 10%, with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged imperial blonde ale. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of limes, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the modestly bitter/tannic/drying finish. Not overly salty. Awesome balance between vibrant limes, rich malts, fruity yeast, tequila barrel presence/integration, and earthy hops. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive experimental style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect.
