Had on-tap at HopCat in Ann Arbor, MI
Appearance - Served up in a 12oz snifter, black with a mostly barren surface and a thin ring of tan suds encircling the edge of the glass. Lacing leaves several horizontal streaks and some broken webbing.
Smell - The aroma is fairly sweet, with hints of sugary maple, chocolate and pecan.
Taste - Follows the nose. Mostly a sugary sweet profile, with maple dominating the from start to finish. Lesser notes of chocolate and pecan, and then there's an odd hint of pink bubblegum as well. Aftertaste continues with strong sugary sweetness and a hint of that nutty earth character.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with moderate, tingly carbonation. Slick drinker before a dry, sticky finish.
Overall - Okay brew, but quite sweet; nigh cloying. The few maple pecan brews Ive had have mostly been miss, so I should probably learn to avoid them in the future.
