Hitting all the hoppy buttons, Odd Side Ales give a nod to Edgar Allan Poe with their marketing of this New England-styled IPA that's more than just catty.
Pale straw, or perhaps light gold, a pastel appearance glosses over a matte opaqueness while crowning with a creamy white froth to nearly an ideal look. Tropical, citrusy and herbal to the nose, an equal part citronella perfume leads to a creamy sweet taste that's framed by cereal grain, honeysuckle and fructose.
Equally as equal on the middle palate, the tri-folded taste of papaya, pineapple, mango and passionfruit rise from the tropical taste while the citrusy focus is of orange, pink grapefruit and lime. With hints of melon, berry and peach present, the taste develops into a moderately resinous bite of lemon leaf, green tea and fresh spruce.
Medium light on the tongue, the Cat In The Wall finishes on the crisper side of malty-dry and with a hemp-like extension in taste. Although all the fruit flavors are present, their intensity is medium, mading this an all-purpose IPA for hop heads. When in comes to hop flavor, they've also let this cat out of the bag.

Honey, mango with tropical fruit taste. More honey in the aroma. Definitely boozy

12oz can, MFG 12/03/19. Thanks to Derek for giving me a can to try. Hazy copper colored ale is capped by a tall and frothy ivory head. Aroma is unique with papaya, citrus, and melon. Hop forward flavors without bitterness: mango, papaya, orange, and melon along with light caramel and honey. Medium-to-full body, resinous hops coat the palate, carbonation and bitterness is modest. This one didn't do it for me. It was easy drinking, but I wasn't crazy over the flavors.

Interesting. Not what I would usually drink. Yellow in color and plenty of head. I get a heavy grapefruit taste. Probably would try this one again.

The CANQuest (tm) is rolling along at high speed & now, having been duly CANspired by @Jimmy_Kneecaps I am taking a walk on the Odd Side, next to Lou Reed.
From the CAN: "N. E. Style India Pale Ale".
This one put me too much in mind of E. A. Poe's "The Back Cat" so I decided to let its psychedelic self outta the CAN with a Crack! of the vent & a hard, C-Line Glug! Kitty might have been In The Wall, but now she was in my glass. She puffed up to form just under two fingers of yowling, howling puffy, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head that final settled down once she realized that she was no longer In The Wall. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Good Cat! The CANt smelled like she had toured through the Dole factory on her way to me! She was redolent with tropical fruits, much like the mixed tropical fruit cup that I had for lunch. Mango, papaya, passion fruit, tangerine, all were present. I beCAN to ask her about it, but she had already activated her self-cleaning device & was well into a full body-wash at that point! I raised a toast, not that she cared, but I CANtinued with a mighty sip. It was medium, with that slick creaminess that lactose imparts. I am never going to be a fan of the style, but that is why I review & rate to style & not to taste, except for Overall, which is where you find out how I really feel. Speaking of feeling, I reached down to stroke her psychedelic fur & she disappeared! Was she ever here? Had she gone back into the wall? No, I heard her in the box now, with Schrodinger's cat! Aw, man, I gotta cut back, I guess! The DTs are really gettin' to me! Meow. 8=O Finish was semi-dry, but the CANprehensive tastes of tropical fruits when coupled with Lactose were just not my bag. A bag! Or a sack! Next time that cat comes to visit, I'm putting it in a sack.

Based on previous experiences with OddSide's Always Sunny themed ales I was anticipating an enjoyable six pack. And I was not disappointed. Nice tropical aromas with white bread and a touch of resin. Big, tropical fruit flavors that leans heavy on papaya and pineapples, bready malt, with a slight sweetness that finishes with a tang of bitterness. Soft and fluffy feel.
