Aroma is dank, pungent and sweaty body odor, but taste is sweeter and smoother but still dank, with a slight round smoothie element through the otherwise light body with thin carbonation finishing semi-wet.

Not a bad milkshake IPA hops are not overpowered and it does have a distinct vanilla cream taste to it. Went down smooth and quite easy to crush. I may buy it again if I see it.

Since the dawn of strawberries and cream, the love affair with vegetation and dairy has mixed and matched all sort of flavor combinations. That quest takes Odd Side brewers to the alehouse where hops and milk sugars are sure to go hand.

Hop Milk, their milkshake IPA pours with a firm matte finish type of haze before crowning with a creamy pale sepia froth. Its fruit-centric aromas of citrus, tropical and stone fruit are accompanied by peppery spice and an overall earthen character. Sweet on the palate, toasted shortbread comes to mind with mild notions of caramel, honey and sweet cream.

Once the ale releases its fruitiness, the full breadth of apricot, orange, mango and papaya all seem to hinge on the slightly bruised side. Creamy in both taste and texture, a sense of yogurt comes about before a peppery, peaty hint of scorched earth, vegetal spice and a grit of rye frames the late palate. Trending moderately bitter, the hop resins keep the session spicy, sharp and laden with fruit rinds.

Medium bodied and creamy throughout, the malty dry ale leaves the palate with an unsettled tannic bite from the character of both grain and hops. The lingering milk sugars and soft vanilla spice are far too mild to balance the vegetation, making Hop Milk a one and done selection.

Canned on 1/22/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy orange/golden; fluffy white head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing. It's hazy, but doesn't look like your typical "New England IPA" or "Milkshake IPA". The aromas have some hints of vanilla cream, orange and apricots. Some malts. The flavors basically follow the nose. More vanilla along with some more orange and citrus. More hints of apricot in the mix. The lactose is there without completely dominating. Solid bitterness. Malts do their thing. It's ultimately bittersweet. Alcohol goes unnoticed for the most part. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid "Milkshake IPA". The lactose, vanilla and citrus blend well together. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. I like it.

Hazed bronze with two-and-a-half fingers of yellowed head. Rings of soapy lacing.

Doughy, yeasty, piney, nutty aroma.

Wretched tasting. Just short of spoiled cream, playdoh and sugary-sweet citrus with a strong bitter and chalky pine finish.

Full, creamy feel with solid carbonation.

Not to my taste at all. One of the worst beers I’ve ever tasted. Can dated 1/3/19.

12 ounce can, dated 01/03/19. Poured into a tulip.
Pours a pale yellow with orange highlights. Sticky just off white head. Light curtains of lace on the glass.
Mellow aroma of vanilla, cream, orange, graham cracker. Smells like an orange creamsicle seriously. There is a layered taste here. First start is soft orange, peach, tangerine then an orange with more acidic bite. Orange peel, cream, light vanilla, biscuity, slight pine finish. Again, orange creamsicle fades as an aftertaste. I think a small bump in the lactose would help as far as the milkshake aspect goes. Drinkability is good with a slight juicyness. No lingering sweetness. Overall, another winner from Odd Side. I could see this as a summer crusha.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 1/3/2019. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, vanilla, lactose, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Very mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, vanilla, lactose, and bready malt flavors; with a solid malt/lactose/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is an excellent milkshake IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, vanilla, lactose, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter/drying finish; awesome soft feel. Feels like a lot of Citra/Mosaic. Very juicy and lightly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balanced lactose and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering bitter dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected.
