12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/8/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy mangoes, melon, fruit skin, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, honey, agave, tequila, toasted oak, graham cracker, and biscuit dough; with lighter notes of vanilla, toffee, peppercorn, herbal, grass, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of mangoes, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy mangoes, melon, fruit skin, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, honey, agave, tequila, toasted oak, graham cracker, and biscuit dough; with lighter notes of vanilla, toffee, peppercorn, herbal, grass, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; fruit tang/tartness; and tequila barrel tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy mangoes, melon, fruit skin, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, honey, agave, tequila, toasted oak, graham cracker, biscuit dough, peppercorn, herbal, grass, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of mangoes, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness, spicy oak, and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness, oak spiciness, and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/slick/bready, acidic/tangy/tannic, and fairly sticky/resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 10%, with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an excellent barrel aged fruited imperial blonde ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of mangoes, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mellowly bitter/acidic/tannic/drying finish. Not overly salty. Great balance of juicy/jammy mangoes, rich malts, fruity yeast, tequila barrel presence/integration, and earthy hops. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive experimental style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect.
