12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/8/2019. Pours lightly hazy golden/orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy passion fruit, habanero pepper, fruit skin/seed, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, honey, agave, tequila, toasted oak, graham cracker, and biscuit dough; with lighter notes of vanilla, toffee, peppercorn, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of passion fruit, habanero, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy passion fruit, habanero pepper, fruit skin/seed, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, honey, agave, tequila, toasted oak, graham cracker, and biscuit dough; with lighter notes of vanilla, toffee, peppercorn, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; fruit tang/tartness; and habanaro/tequila barrel tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of passion fruit, habanero pepper, fruit skin/seed, peach, plum, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, honey, agave, tequila, toasted oak, graham cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of passion fruit, habanero, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness, and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, fairly sticky/tangy/tannic, and lightly saline mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 10% and lingering pepper heat; with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged fruit/spiced imperial blonde ale. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of passion fruit, habanero, fruity yeast, agave, tequila barrels, sea salt, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mellowly bitter/spicy/tannic/drying finish. Not overly salty. Awesome balance of juicy/vibrant fruit/peppers, rich malts, fruity yeast, and tequila barrel presence/integration; with solid earthy hops. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive experimental style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect. Liked this just as much as the Lime, the Mango was a bit too sweet/heavy.
