Pint fill at Barrels &Vines Oct 2019. Poured into tulip glass.

Pour: brown, deep brown with a small head that leaves a thin ring.

Nose: sweet maple, some malt.

Taste: maple, sweet malt, chocolate, dark fruit. Booze is there but wellbalanced. maple dominates without being overpowering.

Mouthfeel: moderate carbonation. Smooth and easy drinking. Not syrupy or overly viscous but substantial.

Overall: worth trying as long as you like reasonably sweet BA stouts. Might try again but probably won’t seek.

Incredible new imperial IPA tried on tap at Odd Side Ales. Looks great, deep dark rich black opaque color with a thin film of tan head and rings of lingering lacing. Smells great, deep dark rich mocha chocolate and coffee, caramel, vanilla, oak, bourbon, maple syrup, light toasted nuts, malt and toffee. Smells intensified and strengthened as the beer warmed. Taste follows the nose, great depth and complexity, good balance and the high ABV was tempered - this beer didn’t necessarily have to be sipped. Rich, chewy, smooth, creamy mouthfeel and just the right amount of carbonation. An excellent beer with both savory and sweet food items.
