This beer stands for friendship and solidarity. These trying times are a little ODD for everyone, not just Odd Side. This extra bit of ODDness presented the opportunity to blend two of our very favorite IPAs together to produce this special one of a kind beer. A little JUICY and a little KRISPY. Bringing these two IPAs together is a reminder that we will all be together once again soon.

12 ounce can into IPA glass, canned on 5/14/2020. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, with no astringency. Minimal warming 6.9%. Once again proving that keeping beer in the fridge extends the shelf life. Feels like Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra hops. Very vibrant, dank, and fairly juicy hops; with a nice malt backbone and dry west coast style finish. Loved it.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, hazy, head is off white and presents 1 finger thick with fine bubbles, head dissipates to a spotty whispy top with some lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is dryer, crisper hops and light biscuit malt; hops are citrus pith and light herbal notes.
Taste is similar with a crisper hop taste - citrus pith, floral, herbal with lighter malt notes of biscuit and toast.
Mouthfeel is crisp, moderate carbonation, low/moderate sweetness, moderate/strong bitterness.
Overall - a crisp, hoppy, lightly citric, drying IPA; sweetness is tempered by the bitterness and the bitterness creates a lingering, drying bitter presence that is tempered by the sweetness. As described, this is a blend of IPA substyles and comes together while allowing characteristics of each to present.

In CANducting a brewery horizontal of Odd Side in the furtherance of The CANQuest (tm), I realized just how impressive these guys are & how lucky we are to have their distro here in Southcentral PA. MichiCAN has always seemed a bit mysterious to me and as I was told, given its geography (N of I-80), nobody "passes through The Mitten". Aha! I have family in Kleveland, but my love & interest for Ahia beCAN & ended with G. D. McGhee back in 1985. I love visiting MichiCAN & these beers are the next best thing! Also, I align with MISU, vice U of MI, in case you wondered. U of MI over OSU, but MISU over U of MI. And WiscO over all!

I was so enamored of this beer before I even beCAN that I almost could not pull the trigger. I overcame this trepidation & Crack!ed open the vent to begin a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It foamed beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with wonderful retention, leaving great lacing in its wake. It beCAN with a haze that left me CANurious - chill haze or brewery haze? Warming, it slowly clarified, albeit only partially, so I guess that the answer was both. Light filtration at the brewery + a quite cold reefer. Nose was quite citrusy, led by orange/CANgerine & underlain by grapefruit. Mouthfeel was medium, on par for the style. The taste was VERY citrusy with orange/CANgerine really leading the way & grapefruit (amazingly) taking seCANd place! Mmm. For me, citrus is king while tropical is less so. I was unsure what they were alluding to by calling it "Krispy", but it was definitely "Juicy". Ahh, I gotta find more beers from these guys! I was really digging the back-'n'-forth interplay of/between the citrus flavors & then I looked down & my glass (as well as the CAN) was nearly empty! 8=O OMFG. Finish had an appropriate bitterness that lingered well past the swallow, leaving it with a pleasantly dry finish. YMMV.

Description: Relatively clear, apple juice color with a thick, fluffy finger of white head. The aroma is a nice blend of dank, floral and tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) that don't get in the way of one another. Taste follows the smell but with noticeable bitterness and grapefruit on the finish. Feel is thin with medium-high carbonation.
Overall: 4 (This beer is good and I may or may not drink it again) This is pretty middle of the fairway for an IPA. The associate at the beer store described it to me as being like Two Hearted but lighter - that's accurate. It's nothing crazy, but a good, standard, easy-drinker.

My brother in law brought a can of this beer to my parents house. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had cotton candy and tangerine notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tangerine presence. Mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.
